Neary Library

Welcome to the Neary Library!

5th grade students at Neary have two 45-minute class blocks in the library for library class and I.T. class. In library, students grow a love of reading and explore genres. I.T. class focuses on Digital Literacy and Computer Science standards through research, coding and more.

4th grade students at Neary will come to the library once a week for book checkout and library lessons with literacy and digital literacy combined. Students will do research and learn coding, as well as embrace a love of reading.

I welcome the opportunity to help you and your reader in any way I can. Please find my contact information below.

Library Policies

Selection Policy

The school librarians of Northborough and Southborough have created a selection policy for library books and materials. Please contact Mrs. Mathew with any questions about selection policy for the Neary School Library.

Circulation Policy

Students may borrow two items each week. As responsibility grows, students may check out more books. Books are due 3 weeks after checkout by default, but students may keep the books for as long as needed to read them. Renewals are unlimited.

Replacement Policy

If a book is truly lost, or damaged beyond repair, there will be a replacement fee of $10 for fiction titles, $15 for nonfiction titles, and $20 for Playaway audiobooks. Reminders are sent throughout the year via email and phone call.

Families may also choose to purchase a BRAND NEW, UNUSED copy of the lost or damaged book. (Recommended.)

Fee payment and replacement books can be sent in to the Neary front office or school library.
