Stay Connected to the Magic at Neary!

Hero- student art
Pictured above is a Veterans Day placemat created by one of our students, featuring the American flag and a hero who served our country. At Monday’s Whole-School Meeting, we also read America’s White Table by Margot Theis Raven and discussed Veterans Day as an opportunity to honor and thank those who have served.

Recognition continued throughout the week as we celebrated our first Neary Values Champion, Lottie (Mrs. Head's class) from 5th grade. After being randomly selected from our student nominations, Lottie took responsibility for choosing the next champion. She reviewed anonymous nominations, considering only the actions described and how each student demonstrated our value of "Be Ready". On Wednesday, she passed the Values Championship belt to Charlie from Mrs. Garand’s class, who then selected Caleb (Mrs. Finnegan's class) as our next champion this morning.

This leadership opportunity asks students not only to live our Neary values, but also to notice and celebrate the good choices of others. The belt will continue moving through our community until the end of the month, when a new nomination process will open, and students can recognize peers who demonstrate what it means to "Be Responsible". Enjoy the photos below.

My best,
Tom

Southborough Families: Share Your Voice in the Town Survey

The town’s Annual Southborough Satisfaction Survey is now open, and your perspective as a parent matters. Sections of particular interest to families include Housing, Quality of Life & Schools (about 3 minutes), Youth, Family & Social Services (about 2 minutes), and Recreation (about 3 minutes).

Every section is opt-in, so you can answer only the topics that matter to you. New topics this year include Drone Delivery, the Senior Center & Council on Aging, and Affordable Housing.

Take the survey at sboro.org by the end of November. Results will be shared in December.
Thank you for helping shape the future of our community!

Roof Project Update

The overall project is approximately 99% complete. This morning, we met with the project manager and general contractor to review progress. All drain replacements are complete. The work remaining is cosmetic and will continue for another week.

We are on target to finish all construction activities on November 13th. We will then move into creating punch list items and awaiting warranty inspections.

The contractor will be demobilizing over the next 7 days. We do appreciate everyone’s patience as we navigate through the final stages of the project.
