Stay Connected to the Magic at Neary!

October 30, 2026
Yesterday afternoon, Neary students traveled to Trottier to watch the Science Wizard, our culminating prize for raising more than $20,000 earlier this month. The performance blended science, magic, and plenty of laughs, and students left excited to share their favorite moments. Thank you to our community for the generosity that made this experience possible. Please enjoy the photograph and video below!

As we turn the calendar to November, student-family conferences are coming up on Thursday, November 12, from 1:00–3:00 p.m. and 5:00–7:00 p.m., and Friday, November 13, from 1:00–3:00 p.m. Some families may have made arrangements with their child’s educator outside these hours. Conferences are an important opportunity for home and school to celebrate successes, discuss areas for continued growth, and work together to support a positive remainder of the year.

Both conference days are early-release days, with dismissal at 11:50 a.m. Lunch will be available, but meals must be ordered in advance. Please complete this form (same one Mrs. Fulton sent earlier this week) to indicate whether your child will need a school lunch on either day. This form will close on Friday, November 6th.

Have a wonderful weekend!

My best,
Tom

Lace Up, Give Back: Sneaker Drive

From November 2–13, Neary will host a sneaker drive to support a local Girl Scout troop. Drop off your donated sneakers in the designated collection box at school. Children’s and adult shoes are welcome, in any condition, brand, style, or size. Donated sneakers will be repurposed, and the fundraiser will help support the troop and its projects. Every pair makes a difference!

News from the Art Room

Neary students have been building their studio habits and creating wonderful artwork! Grade 5 students recently completed Southborough-inspired pieces in celebration of the town’s 300th birthday and are now beginning a Pop Art unit focused on cartoons and characters. Grade 4 students finished their colorful Kindness Hearts and are moving on to new projects.

Families can extend the learning beyond Neary by exploring classes at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts or visiting the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln. When talking with your child about their artwork, invite them to describe it in their own words, ask thoughtful questions, and offer specific observations. If you can help upload student artwork to Artsonia, please contact Ms. Johnson at djohnson@nsboro.k12.ma.us.

Roof Project Update

The new roof covering is complete, and the overall project is approximately 97% complete. This morning, we met with the project manager and general contractor to review yesterday’s situation and confirm next steps: three drain replacements remain, and that work will take place after school, when the building is unoccupied.

Weather permitting, crews will complete the remaining metal work this weekend. We expect the final work to continue into the next two weeks. Thank you for your patience as the project moves toward completion.
