This morning, the Neary community came together to send our Titan Games athletes off in true Wizard style. Students and staff lined the halls with handmade signs, smiles, waves, and plenty of silent cheers as our athletes made their way down the purple carpet and onto the bus. The athletes selected "Eye of the Tiger" to be played on the intercom during their sendoff. It was a joyful reminder of what it looks like when an entire school rallies behind its students.
At Algonquin, our athletes participated in the 50-meter dash, the long jump, and the throwing event. All ten schools in our district participated today. Our Neary athletes represented Neary with courage, joy, teamwork, and determination throughout the day. We are proud to share that our athletes went home with bronze, silver, and gold medals!
We are incredibly proud of our athletes and grateful to the staff members who prepared, supported, and cheered them on. Thank you as well to our students and families for wearing purple, creating signs, and helping us celebrate this special day.
Below, we are excited to share photos and video from this morning’s send-off. Go Wizards!
My best,
Tom

Neary Fundraiser Challenge |
Our Neary families have already raised $12,271 toward our $20,000 goal!
Along the way, our Wizards have unlocked No Homework Day, Pajama Day, Principal for a Day, extra recess, and the chance to choose Mr. Millett’s costume. Next up is a schoolwide game of Lucky Wizard when we reach $15,000!
Be sure to register your student by Sunday, October 4, to be entered in our Week Two drawing. One lucky Wizard from each grade will get to make the morning announcements for a day!
The competition for a movie party is also heating up:
- In fourth grade, the House of Theve leads, with the Houses of Gardula and Perry close behind.
- In fifth grade, the House of Turieo leads, followed closely by the Houses of Head and Soldo.
The top fundraising class in each grade will win a movie party, and every class that raises $1,500 will earn a new classroom board game!
With Wizard Week beginning Monday and the Great Neary Wizard Challenge taking place Friday, October 9, there is still plenty of time to make some magic. Register your student, share their fundraising page, and help their house climb the leaderboard. Every dollar supports enrichment opportunities, assemblies, field trips, teacher grants, and more for our students.
We will announce the date of No Homework Day on Monday, with more information about our other earned celebrations coming throughout the week.
Finally, congratulations to fourth grader Avery, our lucky winner of a ride to school in a police car!

During academic time, students are welcome to keep a water bottle with a secure, spill-proof lid at their workspace. Other beverages, including sports drinks or juice, should be saved for snack time. This expectation helps prevent spills and protect classroom materials and learning equipment. Thank you for your support!

The Neary Homework Club will begin on Tuesday, October 6, and will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00–4:00 p.m. Our first session will run through Thursday, December 17. Families may register their child to attend on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or both days.

Last weekend’s storm interrupted roofing work for about a day, but the crew got back on track and completed additional sections. The project is now 74% complete.
We are beginning to schedule the finishing work associated with the project. We continue to be very pleased with the collaboration among the contractor, project manager, and district administration in keeping the project moving forward.
