ELPAC (Multilingual Parent Advisory Council) Meeting

Dear Families,

We are excited to invite you to our next ELPAC (Multilingual Parent Advisory Council) Meeting on Thursday, December 11th, at 6:30 p.m. in the Algonquin Regional High School Library!
This meeting will be a joyful and welcoming gathering as we:

Learn about Holidays Around the World through our conversations
🍕 Enjoy pizza together
🧸 Provide free babysitting for children
🏀 Welcome, Northborough Recreation to share programs and opportunities for families
🤝 And we are also working to welcome Southborough Recreation to join us as well!

If you’d like, you are welcome to bring a small snack or treat to share, especially something that represents your family’s traditions, but this is completely optional.
ELPAC is a space for multilingual families to connect, share ideas, and learn about community resources that support our students and families. We would love to see you there.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
We look forward to spending the evening with you!
Warmly,
ELPAC Leadership Team
The Public Schools of Northborough and Southborough.

Important Update From Parent Square- Streamlining Notifications for Posts

We're excited to announce an improvement to how you receive notifications for posts from our school. Soon, if you use the ParentSquare app and have both app and text notifications turned on, you'll receive post notifications through the app, with text notifications sent only as a backup when needed. This smart delivery system will simplify and streamline how you receive your school communications.
What's changing?
Currently, you might receive duplicate notifications for posts via both the app and text message.
With this update:
  • App-first delivery, with text as a fallback: When a post is shared, you'll receive a notification through the app first, with a text notification as a backup only if needed. This applies to posts, post digests, and updates to posts.
  • No change for time-sensitive messages: Direct Messages and alerts will continue to be delivered via your preferred methods.
Why it’s changing
This change streamlines how you receive post notifications. By reducing the number of notifications sent to your device for each post, it will be easier for you to keep track of school updates in one place.
What do you need to do?
No action is required from your side! If you already use the app and have both app and text notifications turned on, you'll automatically benefit from this smart notification delivery.
If you haven’t downloaded the ParentSquare app or turned on app notifications, now is a great time to do so. This gives you the best way to access and customize classroom communications on your mobile device.
To learn more about this change, see ParentSquare's Help Article.
