A Thankful Message

Dear Neary Families,

As we approach the Thanksgiving break, I would like to take a moment to express my gratitude to our school community. Each day, I am reminded of how fortunate we are to work with such thoughtful, supportive families and to educate children who bring curiosity, joy, and kindness into our building.

Thank you for your partnership, your trust, and the many ways you contribute to making our school a welcoming place for all students. Whether through volunteering, communicating proactively, or simply encouraging your child each morning, your efforts make a meaningful difference.

I hope this upcoming break provides time for rest, connection, and celebration with loved ones. For those traveling, I wish you safe journeys. For those staying close to home, I hope you find moments of peace and joy.

On behalf of the entire Neary staff, I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving. We are truly grateful for each of you and look forward to welcoming students back after the holiday.

With gratitude,
Kathleen Valenti

REMINDER

We’re excited to invite all Neary students to the Scholastic Book Fair:

Tuesday December 2- Monday December 8

Hosted by the Neary SOS, the Book Fair is a great opportunity for students to build their home libraries, get excited about a variety of books, and further their love of independent reading. As always, every purchase at the Fair benefits our school!

To make this event a success we need your help!

Take time to chat with your kids about the books they're reading! Scholastic offers a wide range of titles with various topics and age groups in mind, so it’s important to ensure that what they choose aligns with your family’s values and is appropriate for their maturity level. Parents know their kids the best!

Students will shop the Book Fair during the school day with their class. We will host a preview day on Tuesday December 2nd when students will have an opportunity to browse and create a wish list of books they may like to purchase.

Set up your student’s eWallet in advance with the dollar amount you would like your child to spend at the Fair. Grandparents, friends, and others can contribute, too!

Visit our Book Fair homepage to set up your child’s eWallet NOW! https://www.scholastic.com/bf/margaretnearyelementarysch

Note: we will also accept cash or credit cards at the fair. If you need confidential financial assistance, please reach out to our school nurse, Deb Parsons, dparsons@nsboro.k12.ma.us

Our Teachers and Specialists have eWallets, too, so families can help build classroom libraries! Donating is completely optional and more information will come from your Room Parent. Should you wish to contribute, please replace the suggested Scholastic donation with an amount that feels right for your family. Thank you!

If your child cannot shop at the Fair, you can shop online at our school’s Virtual Book Fair. The Virtual Book Fair will run from Wednesday, 12/3 through Tuesday, 12/16. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for orders over $25.

Class Shopping Schedule:
Wednesday 12/3: Ahearn, Finneran, Theve, Wallack, Soldo
Thursday 12/4: Finnegan, Head, Fisher, Dolan, Turieo, Gardula
Friday 12/5: Grenier, Garand

My School Bucks Account

If you haven’t already, please take a moment to set up your MySchoolBucks account ( Link here: MySchoolBucks ).

This account will stay with your child throughout their years in our District and is essential for purchasing items that are not covered by the State’s Free Lunch Program—such as milk and second lunches.

If a student does not select to get a school lunch but would like milk to go with their lunch from home, the cost of milk is $0.60.
