Be Ready, Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Be Safe and Always Be Kind!
Dear Neary Families,
We’re excited to share a change in how we’ll welcome families into the new school year. This fall, we will host a Curriculum Night model designed specifically for parents and guardians.
On Tuesday, September 9th, from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Neary will offer an opportunity for you to meet your child’s classroom teacher and specialists to hear about grade-level curriculum, classroom expectations, homework routines, and the learning experiences your child will engage in this year. You’ll also have the chance to meet with specialists and community partners, ask questions, and gain a better understanding of how we support students academically, socially, and emotionally at Neary. Please note that this event is intended for parents and guardians only, as the focus will be on communication between home and school.
To give students a chance to visit Neary before the first day of school, I will be hosting two Open House Visit Days in August after placement letters have been sent home. These informal, drop-in events will take place on:
Monday, August 18th from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Wednesday, August 20th from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Students and their families are welcome to explore the building and visit classrooms at their own pace. While staff will not be present during these visits, I will be available to greet families and answer any questions.
If you believe your child would benefit from a more individualized experience, I’d be happy to arrange a personal tour. Please feel free to email me at kvalenti@nsboro.k12.ma.us to schedule a time.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We look forward to a fantastic year ahead at Neary!
Respectfully,
Kathleen Valenti
Principal
